Palaniswami announces 'Yaadhum Oorey' to attract more investment

Chennai, July 12 (UNI): Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday announced that a special division called "Yaadhum Oorey" will be formed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh to attract more investments in to the state.

Making a statement under Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said a special website will also be launched for people to connect with each other, share their ideas, create awareness and attract investments.

He also said that an online grievance portal 'Biz Buddy' will also be created at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in which organisations could convey their problems so that it could be solved within four weeks.

A website will also be started to connect industrialists and land owners, who were willing to sell 20 acres of land or more for industrial purposes, Mr Palaniswami said.

He also announced new export infrastructures will be developed at the SIPCOT in Kanchipuram and Erode at a cost of Rs 50 crore.

The IT park in SIPCOT, Siruseri will get conference halls, training centres in 50,000 square feet at a cost of Rs 40 crore.

He said homes will be built at a cost of Rs 50 crore at the SIPCOT industrial parks in Ranipet.

He further said government training centres will be set up at a cost of Rs 26 crore at Perumbakkam in Kanchipuram and Sembodai in Nagapattinam.

The work will be taken up in collaboration with Powergrid Corporation India Limited and Bharath Petroleum Corporation Limited.

He also announced starting of new departments in 11 Government Industrial Training Institutes across the State at a cost of Rs 44.19 crore.

Mr Palaniswami also said a new desalination plant to convert 60 MLD seawater into drinking water will be set up at Thoothukudi. The scheme will be implemented at a cost of Rs 634 crore.

He said a new initiative 'Makkal En' has been developed by TNeGA. Through this people could get all certificates right from birth to death certificates in the Citizen Vault without applying.

This scheme christened 'Makkalai Thedi Arasu' (government to the people) will be implemented at a cost of Rs 90 crore, he added.
