Parliament likely to discuss black money amid Opposition outcry

| | Nov 26, 2014, at 06:46 pm
New Delhi, Nov 26 (IBNS): The black money issue would be discussed in both houses of Parliament on Wednesday, a day after the Opposition attacked the ruling BJP led government on the issue.

The Opposition, especially Trinamool Congress which is at loggerheads with the BJP, accused the Narendra Modi government of doing nothing to bring back black money despite its poll pledge.

The Lok Sabha Speaker on Wednesday allowed a discussion on the black money issue under rule 193 and it is likely to take place post lunch.

Congress's Mallikarjun Kharge giving an adjournment motion notice on black money issue said it is ready for immediate discussion and said it could be done by suspending Question Hour to which Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not agree.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Parliament said the government is serious on the issue of black money and we bring it at any cost.

Opposition parties, led by Trinamool Congress (TMC) rocked the daily proceedings in the Parliament on Tuesday by creating a ruckus both inside and outside of the House demanding to bring back black money stashed abroad as soon as possible.

Trinamool MPs had blocked the main entrance of the Parliament Building Tuesday, holding up black umbrellas with slogans like "Kaala dhan wapas Lao (Bring back black money) written on them.
