New Delhi: The Budget session of the Indian Parliament will begin from Friday by following strict COVID-19 restrictions.

The budget will be presented on Feb 1.

The session is expected to continue till the first week of April.

The session is expected to be stormy with the opposition leaders expected to target the government over the contentious farm laws amid the ongoing farmers' protest.

President Ram Nath Kovind will address the  members of both houses seated in three locations to begin the session of the Parliament.

However, 16 opposition parties have planned to boycott the President's address in solidarity with protesting farmers against the new farm laws.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted: "Today 16 Opposition parties are boycotting the President's address to Parliament in full solidarity with the agitating farmers, whom the Modi Sarkar is trying to defame. Opposition reiterates the demands of Kisan andolan to repeal the 3 anti-farmers’ laws. "
