Lucknow/UNI: Expressing satisfaction over the drop in the number of active Covid cases by 22,000 in the last 17 days, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked people not to lower the guard and effort should be put in to break the chain of infection.

He said that no effort should be spared to increase the Covid recovery rate in the state.

The number of fresh cases on Sunday was 3930 while 5226 have recovered and the total number of positive cases in the state has gone up to 4,14,466.

Presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting here today at his official residence, he asked officials to pay more attention to those districts where more cases are being reported. “In the first phase do the geographical mapping of the districts where more than 100 cases are being reported in a day and identify the high-incidence clusters. In the next phase, the districts with 50 cases or more should be taken up”, he directed.

The CM said the containment zones should be made in those identified clusters in order to ensure effective infection control. Every person in the clusters should be tested and the home delivery of essentials be arranged.

The Chief Minister took stock of the Covid situation in Lucknow and Kanpur Nagar and directed the nodal officers of these districts the Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayati Raj and Principal Secretary, Health respectively to chalk out effective strategy to check the Covid spread.

“Maintain communication with the home isolated patients besides patients admitted in the hospitals through CM Helpline to get feedback on their condition. It raises their confidence and helps in imposing faith in the system,” he said.

He also asked people to study the treatment pattern of recovered Covid patients and use in the future as a reference point.

Putting emphasis on the dialogue, he said that any situation can be diffused by effective communication. He directed the police department to exercise total sensitivity and promptness in the cases related to women, girls and SC/ST .

Asking officers to ensure proper arrangements at the paddy purchase centres, he said that the price to farmers should not be less than the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in any circumstance. He also insisted that the farmers should be made aware of drying and cleaning the paddy before bringing it to the purchase centres.
