Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: The Kerala government in its new COVID-19 relaxations issued on Friday has said that people, who have taken a single dose of coronavirus vaccine, will be permitted to enter cinema theatres in the state.

The government had permitted cinema theatres to reopen from Oct 25.

The number of persons permitted for weddings, public functions, social, cultural, political gatherings and funerals for non-COVID-19 deaths is increased to a maximum of 100 in indoor venues and 200 in outdoor venues.

The number of persons will be restricted proportional to space available for smaller venues, to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols including social distancing.

The regular classes for eighth standard in schools are allowed from Nov 8, subject to extant guidelines of the General Education department in this regard.

The practical classes for ninth standard students in technical high schools are also permitted from Monday.
