New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in applauding Team India's historic triumph over Pakistan in the World Cup.

"I congratulate Team India on this historic victory," PM Modi said.

India subdued Pakistan in the ODI World Cup history, clinching a seven-wicket victory in Ahmedabad.

This marked India's eighth consecutive win against their arch-rivals in the mega event.

India's bowling unit played a pivotal role, dismissing Pakistan for 191 runs after skipper Rohit Sharma elected to field first.

While Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) displayed potential, other Pakistani batsmen struggled to leave a mark. On the Indian side, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj each secured two wickets.

In response, Rohit Sharma's remarkable 86-run performance, alongside

Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 53, guided India to a triumphant finish.
