PM Modi expresses gratitude to Sheikh Hasina for contribution to COVID 19 Emergency Fund

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina for her contribution to the COVID-19 Emergency Fund.

"Grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh for announcing  $ 1.5 million as contribution to the COVID-19 Emergency Fund.  Through our solidarity and working together, we will overcome challenges posed by COVID-19,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi had proposed the formation of the fund during his meeting with SAARC leaders over combating COVID 19 outbreak recently.

In India, 415 people have been infected by the disease so far.

Eight people have died due to the disease in India.
