PM Modi lauds Indian soldiers and sportpeople in Mann Ki Baat

New Delhi, Oct 29 (IBNS): Delivering the 37th edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on a host of issues among which he lauded the soldiers and sportspeople.


Speaking to the nation via his monthly radio address, Modi said that the "entire Nation is proud of our brave Jawans."

"Our Jawans are playing a vital role in UN peace-keeping missions across the world," the PM said.

Addressing the issue of gender equality, Modi said: "The UN declaration of Human Rights is testimony to India's push for gender equality."

Modi remembered Sister Nivedita on the occasion and said: "India has been blessed with great people, who served humanity with selflessness."

"Sister Nivedita worked to unite people by awakening national consciousness," he added.

Raising his concern on health issues, Modi said: "Diseases like Diabetes are now also affecting the young."

Suggesting yoga for young India, Modi said, "Yoga will help our children from lifestyle disorders."

PM Modi also spoke about recent wins that Indian sportspeople have achieved in hockey and badminton.
