PM Modi meets actress Vyjayanthimala in Chennai

Chenna/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Padma Vibushan awardee and legendary actress Vyjayanthimala in Chennai.

PM Modi shared images from his meeting with the actress and praised her "exemplary contribution to the world of Indian cinema."

In a post on X, he said: "Glad to have met Vyjayanthimala Ji in Chennai. She has just been conferred the Padma Vibhushan and is admired across India for her exemplary contribution to the world of Indian cinema."

A renowned Bharatanatyam danseuse, she had also served as a Congress MP in the past. She is currently associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In 2024, she was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. This is the second-highest civilian honor.
