PM Modi mourns demise of former Israeli President Shimon Peres

New Delhi, Sept 28 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday mourned the death of former Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Peres, 93, died on Wednesday morning in a hospital near Tel Aviv.

He is regarded as one of the founding father of the nation.

Hailing the deceased as a 'friend of India', PM Modi said, "In former President Shimon Peres, we lost a key world leader & a friend of India. Pained by his demise. Our condolences to people of Israel."
