| @indiablooms | Apr 12, 2018, at 05:06 am

New Delhi, Apr 11 (IBNS): Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday targeted  Narendra Modi over the Unnao gangrape case and said the Prime Minister should fast to protest against the atrocities on women under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule.

He said Modi should fast for the failure of law and order which lead to ill treatment of women under his party's rule.

Rahul made the remark in the wake of the Unnao gangrape case and the suspicious death of the 16-year-old rape victim's father.

Following the footsteps of the Congress, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of PM Modi will host a fast on Thursday, as a protest against the parliament washout.

In a press statement, the BJP has said Modi will hold a day-long fast "to expose the Congress for its undemocratic style of functioning & pursuing divisive politics & anti-development agenda."
