PM Modi silent even as democratic institutions are under attack: Rahul

| @indiablooms | Apr 29, 2018, at 08:07 pm

New Delhi, Apr 29 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the country's democratic institutions are under attack.

Speaking at the 'Jan Aakrosh' rally in the national capital, Rahul said: "The RSS is slowly taking over our democratic institutions and destroying them from within while PM Modi watches silently."

Attacking Modi further, Rahul said BJP party members are assaulting women even as the PM talks about  "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao".

"PM Modi says 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'. Ironically, the members of his own party are assaulting women," said the Congress President.

"Atrocities against Dalits have drastically risen under PM Modi but he hasn't spoken a word about this yet," said he.

Taking a dig on Modi's recent visit to China, Rahul said: "The Chinese are aggressively pursuing militarisation in Doklam. Despite this, all that PM Modi does is hold a "no-agenda" meeting with the Chinese President."

He accused the BJP and RSS of spreading falsehood about the Congress across the nation.

"But the truth is now making its way out and people can see through their lies," said he.

Rahul said he "respects differences of opinion and will protect any dissenters. However, the BJP neither appreciates different opinions nor does it respect its own elders."

The Congress President claimed that his party will win every election from now on and will also emerge victorious in 2019.

Speaking at the rally, Rahul said only the Congress Party can support the farmers of India and protect their interests.

"I met PM Modi myself and asked him to waive off farm loans. He refused and said that waiving off farm loans is not their policy," sai he.
