New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the programme marking the culmination of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign’s Amrit Kalash Yatra at Kartavya Path in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The programme will also mark the closing ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

PM Modi will inaugurate the Amrit Vatika and Amrit Mahotsav Memorial during the programme and will address thousands of Amrit Kalash Yatris joining the programme from across the country.

As per the Ministry of Culture, during the programme, the Prime Minister will also launch 'Mera Yuva Bharat' (MY Bharat) platform for the youth of the country.

On Monday, the final event of Meri Mati Mera Desh saw vibrant participation from all 36 States and Union Territories of the country, embodying the true spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

Over 25,000 Amrit Kalash Yatris from 7000 blocks in 766 districts of the country marched on Kartavya Path with songs of patriotism and beautifully choreographed cultural dance presentations.

Representatives from every state and union territory poured soil and rice from their states and UTs into one giant Amrit Kalash embodying the unity in plurality of our great nation.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur also joined in the celebration and poured soil into the Amrit Kalash.

"In the last two years, the country celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and crores of people participated in the lakhs of programmes organized under it," Anurag Thakur said.

The Minister said that PM Modi called for people’s participation in the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” programme and Amrit Kalash Yatras were organised in the six lakh villages of India and soil was collected from different corners of the country.

The Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign is a tribute to the veers and veeranganas who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav began on March 12, 2021, to celebrate 75 years of India's independence. Since its launch, more than two lakh programmes were organised throughout the country.
