Police recover huge quantity of illegal drugs and arrest two persons in Assam’s Karimganj district

Guwahati, Sept 14 (IBNS) : Police have seized huge quantity of illegal drugs and arrested two persons from Assam’s Karimganj district, officials said on Friday.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, Patharkandi police in the Barak valley district set up a mobile check point at Chadkhida area and intercepted a motor bike bearing registration number of TR-05-8484 coming from Patharkandi area.

During search, police recovered three packets of illegal drugs from a bag and 200 Yaba tablets contained in each packet.

Police arrested two persons, who carried the illegal drugs identified as Abdul Kadir and Aftar Hussain.

“We had intercepted a motor bike coming from Patharkandi area. During search, we had recovered three packets of drugs from a bag of the bikers,” Dimbeswar Thakuria, Officer-in-Charge, Patharkandi police station said.
