Pranab Mukherjee last of a generation of politicians able to reach out across political aisle: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar/UNI: Describing former President Pranab Mukherjee as the last of a generation of politicians able to reach out across the political aisle, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said his encyclopedic memory meant he always had an an anecdote to make the point under discussion.

Recalling his meeting with Mukherjee, the vice-president of the National Conference (NC) Omar said he always find his interaction with him memorable.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter on Monday evening, Omar said “ One of the many occasions I had to meet Pranab da. I always found our interactions to be memorable. His encyclopaedic memory meant he always had an anecdote to make the point under discussion.”

He further said “ the last of a generation of politicians able to reach out across the political aisle”.
