President poll: Mayawati not against Ram Nath Kovind's nomination

Lucknow, June 19 (IBNS):Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Monday said her party will not oppose Ram Nath Kovind's candidature as presidential nominee unless the opposition parties put up more popular Dalit face for the polls against him.

Addressing the media, Mayawati said: "We are not against Ram Nath Kovind's nomination."

"We are not going to oppose him as he is a Dalit," she said.

She said she will not oppose the NDA candidate unless the opposition announces more popular Dalit face against him.

The BJP-led NDA on Monday announced Ram Nath Kovind as its candidate for the upcoming Presidential polls.
