Prime Minister Modi mourns loss of lives in Arunachal Pradesh landslide

New Delhi, Apr 22 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the death of several people in a landslide that hit Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang town on Friday.

"PM expressed grief on the loss of lives caused by a landslide in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. He extends condolences to bereaved families," PMO India tweeted.

At least 10 labourers were feared dead as landslide strikes Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang townon Friday, reports said.

Nine bodies have been retrieved so far, officials said.

The catastrophe occurred due to incessant pre-monsoon rains, as a chunk of land fell upon a labour camp.
