Priyanka Gandhi Vadra quarantines herself, cancels Assam tour

New Delhi/UNI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra here on Friday cancelled her upcoming tour to Assam for electioneering as she has quarantined herself after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for novel Coronavirus.

"After being exposed to COVID-19, I have cancelled my Assam tour. Although my yesterday's report came negative, yet I am following the advice of doctors. I will remain in isolation for the next few days. I apologise for this inconvenience. I pray for Congress' victory," she posted in Hindi on her official Twitter account.

The second phase of Assembly polls was held in 39 constituencies across 13 districts of Assam on Thursday. A voter turnout of 74.76 per cent was recorded during the second phase.

Polling for the third and last phase will be held on April 6 and the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
