Tensions mounted on Sunday evening after a group of people, who claimed themselves to be students of Osmania University, barged into the house of southern star Allu Arjun in Hyderabad and damaged it, media reports said.

They reportedly entered the house of the actor when a protest against the recent stampede incident which occurred outside a Hyderabad cinema hall during the screening of Arjun's latest release Pushpa 2 was going on.

Cops intervened and arrested eight members of the university's Joint Action Committee (JAC), reported India Today.

The arrested individuals were taken to Jubilee Hills Police Station.

The protesters reportedly threw tomatoes and damaged flower pots in the residence.

According to reports, the protesters were demonstrating against the stampede incident which left a woman dead.

An eight-year-old boy is still undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city. He is reportedly in coma.

The protesters reportedly demanded one crore as compensation to the family of the 35-year-old woman who died in the stampede.

According to reports, Allu Arjun was not present in the residence when the attackers entered it.

Following the stampede, Arjun was arrested but later granted four-week interim bail by a Telangana court on the same day.

A case was filed against Arjun, his security team, and theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
