A large number of youths came out on streets in old Srinagar's Nowhatta, Gojwara, Rajouri Kadal and Kawadara areas early in the morning and blocked roads.

They also pelted stones on security forces, police said.

Security forces lobbed tear smoke shells to disperse the stone pelting protesters.

On Sunday evening, Gowhar Dar, an engineering student was allegedly killed by CRPF men when they were protesting against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kashmir on Nov 7.
