Puducherry: Security tightened to churches after Sri Lanka blasts

Puducherry, Apr 23 (UNI) Security has been beefed up to the churches here in the wake of the serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka.

Police conducted searches in all the churches on the day of the blast in Sri Lanka on Sunday and Superintendent of Police Maran held discussions with priests in respect of security in churches.

Talking to news persons on Tuesday, Maran said that police has taken a decision to provide security to churches and at the same time, the churches were instructed to adhere to the advises given by the police.

He said all churches were advised to install surveillance cameras and private security will be provided at the church entrance to prevent the entry into it with suspicious commodities and to inform the police if any stranger entering the church.

Maran also said that it was advised to arrange security for the churches during night time too.
