Moga/UNI: A head constable on Sunday shot dead his wife and three other members of his in-laws' family at Jalalpur Saidan village, falling under Dharamkot Sub-division and later, surrendered himself before the police.

According to Moga SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill, the accused was identified as Kulwinder Singh, who was working in Moga Police Lines.

After completing his duty on Saturday, Kulwinder did not surrender his service weapon (AK-47) and straightaway went to his in-laws's village, where he stayed for the night and had a quarrel with them for many hours.

After shooting all the four and also injuring a seven-year-old daughter of his brother-in-law, the accused went to Dharamkot police station and surrendered himself, he said.

The deceased were identified as the constable's wife Rajwinder Kaur (45), her mother Satwinder Kaur (65), her brother Jaskarn Singh (40) and his wife Upinderjeet Kaur (32).

The bodies have been taken to Moga Civil Hospital for post-mortem, the SSP added.
