Chandigarh/UNI: In a breakthrough, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police averted planned target killings with the arrest of four operatives of Prema Lahoria, Vicky Gounder Gang, after an exchange of fire and recovered six pistols and live cartridges from them.

In another breakthrough, Tarn Taran police crackdown on three notorious gangsters, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Numberdar, Mohpreet Singh alias Moh, and Shamsher Singh alias Shera, with 1.02 kg of heroin, three illegal weapons, four magazines, 20 live ammunition, and one car in Naushera Pannuan.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that Gopy Numberdar is a repeat offender with a history of criminal involvement, including the RPG firing on PS Sirhali. He is also associated with the gangster Lakhbir Landa.

Further investigation is on to find out forward and backward linkages.
