Rabri asks BJP leader Sushil Modi to marry his sister with Nitish Kumar

Patna, Nov 29 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was left in a really embarrassing situation on Tuesday after former chief minister Rabri Devi suggested a senior BJP leader to take away chief minister Nitish Kumar and get his sister marry with him.

The remarks by Rabri, wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, come amid wide media reports that Kumar’s JD-U is headed for the BJP.

As such, former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi had asked the chief minister to rethink about his alliance with the RJD and join the BJP, and the media persons wanted to get her comments over it. But what they got was really astounding.

“Modiji Nitish ko god mein uthakar le jayen aur apni bahan se unaki shadi kara den (Modiji should carry Nitish home and get his sister marry with the latter),” she told the media.

She hurriedly withdrew her statements later saying she was only joking.

“Media wale bone Sushil Kumar Modi kahe hain Nitish Kumar RJD chhor BJP aa jayen, hum bole Modiji Nitish ko godi mein utha le jayen. Par isme kya aapatti ki baat hai? Thoda hassi mazzak karliya to kya? Sabhi karate hai na?,” remarked Rabri.

The development indicate the increasing tension in the ruling Grand Alliance over AJD-U’s reported growing closeness with the BJP—a report the chief minister himself has denied.

The JD-U not only announced its whole-hearted support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over currency ban but stayed away from any agitation or protests against the note ban even as both his alliance partners, the RJD and the Congress opposed this move.

The JD-U’s move to support the Narendra Modi government over the issue assumes much significance given the fact that almost all opposition parties have been opposing the currency ban.

Even the JD-U’s own alliance partners in the government, such as, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) headed by Lalu Prasad and the Congress led by Sonia Gandhi, have strongly opposed the move and asked the government to roll back its decision.
