Rahul Gandhi questions transparency in Sohrabuddin case again

| @indiablooms | Feb 27, 2018, at 11:30 pm

New Delhi, Feb 27 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday raised specific questions on the transparency in Sohrabuddin case, in which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah was one of the accused.

Listing some of the developments in a tweet, Rahul said: "The Sohrabuddin case claims yet another Judge. Justice Revati Dere, who challenged the CBI has been removed. Judge J T Utpat, asked Amit Shah to appear and was removed. Judge Loya asked tough questions. He died."

Judge Loya, who was hearing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case in which Shah was an accused,  died of a heart attack in 2014.

His death raised questions from certain quarters about the possibility of a foul play.

Shah was acquitted by a new judge, who said there wasn't enough evidence to merit a trial.

Recently, Justice Revat Dere has been replaced by the Bombay High Court.

Justice Dere's replacement came after she had reportedly lifted the gag order on the media coverage of the case and questioned the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for its lack of clarity in presenting the case.
