Rahul Gandhi thanks women of India for playing their role in Lok Sabha polls

New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday thanked women of the country for playing their role both as candidates and voters in this Lok Sabha polls.

Gandhi made the comment at a time when the country is voting in the final phase of the Lok Sabha polls.

India voted in a staggering seven-phase Lok Sabha elections this time.

Gandhi tweeted: "Today is the 7th and last phase of polling. Our mothers and sisters have played a key role in these elections, not just as candidates, but also as committed voters whose voices must be heard. I salute them all."

The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
