Rahul will take over Congress soon: Sonia Gandhi

| @indiablooms | Oct 14, 2017, at 04:36 am
New Delhi, Oct 13 (IBNS): Congress President Sonia Gandhi has told media that her son Rahul Gandhi will soon take over the reins of the party.

“You have been asking this for so many years and it’s now happening,” she told NDTV at a function to release former president Pranab Mukherjee’s autobiography, The Coalition Years 1996-2012.

According to media reports citing sources, Rahul will take over the reins of the party after Diwali.

Reports also stated that almost all states, which completed their organisational elections, have passed unanimous resolution demanding Rahul to take charge of the party.

The party’s Central Election Authority (CEA), which is overseeing the organisational polls, will now receive the list of delegates and resolutions from all the states.

Following this process, the election for the new Congress president will begin.
