Imphal: Manipur based militant group People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has claimed corrupt practices have been made in the state education department in connection with the recent recruitment of graduate teachers in the state as well as the recruitment of assistant professor, non-teaching staff of Dhanamanjuri University.

The militant group asked the Manipur Education Minister and one high ranking official of state education department to return the money they have allegedly collected from the candidates who applied for different posts at the state education department within this month.

In a press release issued by PREPAK Leibak Ngaaakpa Luwang said that, the organization has received information about the large scale corruption in the recruitment organized under the aegis of the education minister and official of higher education department.

The militant group urged all concerned to take the matter seriously and if necessary they are prepared to take stern actions against those who are degrading the education sector of the state.

The outfit claimed that, a huge amount of money has been collected from the candidates who are applying for graduate teachers and teaching, non-teaching staff and assistant professors at Dhanamanjuri University.

The outfit claimed that, the Manipur dducation department is enaged in corrupt practises through appointment of staff on contractual or temporary basis instead of framing a proper recruitment and transfer policy.

The outfit also said that, PREPAK will now keep a close eye on the education sector of the state.
