Patna, Apr 10 (UNI) National vice president of RJD Mangni Lal Mandal and another senior leader Rambadan Rai today resigned from the party alleging that RJD had not given due importance to Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) in distribution of tickets for Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

Besides Mandal and Mr Rai, another party leader Dr A P Singh who was president of medical cell of RJD, also resigned from primary membership of the party citing same reasons.

Both Mr Mandal and Rai, in joint interaction with media persons here, said that RJD which used to claim to struggle for fighting for the cause of EBCs, did not bother to give due importance to them in selection of tickets for ongoing Lok Sabha elections in the state. Only sitting MP of the party Bulo Mandal, had been given ticket from EBCs, from Bhagalpur seat, they pointed out.

"Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given fielded six candidates from EBCs in JD(U) while BJP has given two candidates from this category in ongoing Lok Sabha elections", both the leaders said adding that RJD was required to clear its views on EBCs. Continued indifferent attitude of RJD made it difficult for them to continue in the party, they remarked.
