Ahmedabad, Mar 12 (IBNS): Setting the tone for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Congress president Rahul Gandhi attended the Congress Working Committee meeting in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and hit out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday.

Gandhi said the committee resolved to defeat the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Gandhi said the RSS and the BJP follow the ideology of “fascism, hatred, anger and divisiveness".

Sharing images from the meet, Gandhi captioned it as: "On the anniversary of Gandhi Ji’s historic Dandi March, the Congress Working Committee in Ahmedabad, resolved to defeat the RSS/ BJP ideology of fascism, hatred, anger & divisiveness. No sacrifice is too great in this endeavour; no effort too little; this battle will be won."

Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and ex-Indian PM Manmohan Singh attended the meeting.

The meeting took place at a time when the nation is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls.

The Lok Sabha elections dates were announced on Sunday.
