S Jaishankar interacts with New Zealand Minister Nanaia Mahuta, discuss Indo-Pacific region

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday interacted with Minister for Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Nanaia Mahuta when the two leaders discussed issues related to the Indo-Pacific region.

The two leaders also discussed the crucial issue of roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines and expectations about post-COVID recovery.

"It was a pleasure to speak to New Zealand FM @NanaiaMahuta for the first time. Discussed the COVID challenge and our expectations of an early recovery. Our shared interests are expressed bilaterally and in the Indo-Pacific. Look forward to meeting her in person," S Jaishankar tweeted.

The New Zealand leader said she had a 'warm' conversation with S Jaishankar.

"A warm first conversation with @DrSJaishankar and a useful exchange about our respective COVID-19 health response, our common aspirations in the Indo-Pacific region and international education. Ngā mihi nui! " she said.
