S Jaishankar meets Australian counterpart Penny Wong

New Delhi/Sydney: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday held talks with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong in Sydney.

In a tweet, EAM said that the two nations are increasingly demonstrating their ability to go beyond the bilateral and collaborate at the regional and global level," the minister said.

“An excellent meeting this afternoon with FM @SenatorWong
of Australia. The follow-up to the Prime Ministers’ Summit has commenced," the minister said.

“India and Australia are increasingly demonstrating their ability to go beyond the bilateral and collaborate at the regional and global level.”

The Australian FM tweeted: “Australia and India share an interest in a peaceful, stable, prosperous region."

"It's a reminder of why our partnership is so important," he said.

He said: "It was great to speak with my good friend @DrSJaishankar about how we can expand our cooperation to achieve the region we want.”
