S Jaishankar meets Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, discusses ways to expand bilateral relationship

Colombo: India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday when the two leaders discussed ways to expand bilateral relationship.

After the meeting, Jaishankar said India will remain a reliable partner in Sri Lanka's development

" Pleased to call on President @GotabayaR . Conveyed warm greetings from PM @narendramodi . Discussed cooperation for post-Covid health and economic recovery. India will be a reliable partner in Sri Lanka's development," he tweeted.

Speaking on the meeting, the President said: "Met with the minister of external affairs #India, @DrSJaishankar  at Presidential Secretariat today. Strengthening bilateral relationship between #SriLanka & #India through post #COVID19 economy development , Health care, Power Generation etc. were discussed thoroughly."

Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Sri Lanka.
