Salman Khan faces verdict today in the hit-and-run case
Mumbai, May 6 (IBNS) Actor Salman Khan faces verdict on Wednesday in the hit-and-run case as a court will tell him whether he is guilty in running over pavement dwellers with his SUV 13 years ago.
The 49-year-old actor faces charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
Additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande will pronounce his verdict in case.
The prosecution claims it has strong evidence that Salman Khan was drunk and driving back to his home in Bandra when he lost control of the car.
The prosecution also claims that Salman fled the scene and did not inform the police as required by the law.
The actor has claimed that it was his driver Ashok Singh who was behind the wheels at the time.

Ashok Singh, the only defence witness in the case, corroborated that version and told the court that the accident took place as the tyre burst and brake jammed.
