Saradha: CBI arrests former Union Minister Matang Sinh

Kolkata, Jan 31 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested former Union Minister Matang Sinh in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam, reports said.

The CBI arrested him after questioning him for more than seven hours.

According to reports, he has been arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation of funds.

The former Union Minister's company had allegedly received Rs. 28 crore from  Sudipta Sen's Saradha Group.

The multi-crore scam left lakhs of depositors fleeced in West Bengal and triggered a political uproar.
