SC orders investigation against ex-CBI chief Ranjit Sinha
New Delhi, May 14 (IBNS): The Supreme Court of India on Thursday said former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chief Ranjit Sinha should be investigated for allegedly abusing his power.
Sinha retired in December. Before he left office, he was caught up in controversies.
The Supreme Court also ordered his removal from the investigation agency in connection with a massive telecom scam.
The judges accepted that he was guilty of trying to subvert the inquiry against telecom firms and executives who were charged with colluding with government officials to get out-of-turn mobile network licenses and free spectrum or airwaves.
