School Students from seven North-eastern States call on MoS ( Home) Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS): A group of 26 students from the remote part of seven North Eastern States of Assam, Tripura,  Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh called on Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju here on Wednesday.

The students are on a National Integration tour being conducted by Assam Rifles to promote harmony and awareness.

Welcoming the students Rijiju expressed the hope that this visit will go a long way in helping them understand this vast country.

He advised them to concentrate on  their studies, be  good citizens of the country and contribute towards the development of the nation.

The tour is aimed at integrating the youth with the nation and promoting concept of unity in diversity.

These students are visiting the historical places of Delhi like Red Fort, India Gate, Qutab Miniar etc.

They will visit  Agra from 6th December to see the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and other historical places.

Assam Rifles conducts such National Integration Tours to showcase the richness and varied culture of India to students hailing from far flung areas of the North East.

It gives them a window of opportunity to widen their horizons and unshackle their imaginative powers.

Apart from visiting places of historical and educational importance they have time for recreation and enjoyment also. The tour also provides them an opportunity to meet important national personalities.
