SC/ST Amendment protest : Life partially affected in MP and in parts of UP and Rajasthan

New Delhi, Sept 6 (IBNS) : Normal life was partially  affected in Madhya Pradesh and in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan  on Thursday  as several organistations staged demonstration  as part of the Bharat Bandh in protest against the SC/ST Amendment Act, media reports said.

According to reports, shops and business establishments remained shut and vehicular movement was affected in several areas. of Madhya Pradesh. Petrol pumps in the state will also remain closed till four pm.

All schools and colleges in Gwalior also  remained closed.

Section 144 of CrPc has been imposed in most parts of Madhya Pradesh while 34 units of the special armed force of police being  deployed in various districts.

Around 34 distrcits in Bhopal are on high alert.

According to reports, shops are shut in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh and in Ajmer and Kota in Rajasthan as protests against the the amendment to the SC/ST Act are going on.

Reports of protests also came from Vranasi and Mathura.

In Bihar, protesters stopped trains in Darbhanga, Arrah and Munger's Masudan as part of the ‘Bharat Bandh’.
