Security forces nab four ULFA-I militants along with arms, ammunition in Arunachal Pradesh

Guwahati/IBNS: Security forces apprehended four hardcore militants of banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang and Tirap district.

Security personnel recovered arms and ammunition in possession from the nabbed militants.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input on infiltration of ULFA-I militants to Tirap-Changland-Longding region in Arunachal Pradesh, troops of Assam Rifles along with police launched operations at Changra, Kuthung and Shongko Havin area in Changlang and Tirap districts on Friday.

During the operations, security forces apprehended four ULFA-I militants and they were identified as Tiksher Moran alias Arjun Asom, Arup Dowarah alias Anchon Asom and Surajeet Dowarah alias Khamon Asom and Jintu Asom.

Security personnel recovered four pistols with magazines, 20 rounds of AK series rifle ammunition, eight rounds SLR ammunition, two mobile phone handsets, two pairs of ULFA-I badges and other warlike stores in possession from them.

A top police official said that, during the preliminary investigation, the nabbed ULFA-I militants revealed that they were trained at Taga area in Myanmar.

Later, the ULFA-I militants and recovered arms, ammunition were handed over to police.
