Shabana Azmi congratulates new Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani

Mumbai, July 19 (IBNS): Actress Shabana Azmi congratulated Union Minister Smriti Irani on taking charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

She said it was a moment of delight to see someone from the Indian entertainment industry taking charge of the department.

"Delighted to have a person from the Industry taking charge.Congratulations and welcome," Azmi tweeted.

Smriti Irani took charge of the Ministry on Tuesday.

She was appointed to the post after M Venkaiah Naidu resigned to fight the Vice Presidential polls.

Naidu is the candidate of the NDA for the vice presidential polls.
