Sharad, Kushwaha could contest 2019 LS polls under one banner

Patna, Nov 20 (BiharPost/IBNS): Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) leader Sharad Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) president Upendra Kushwaha could contest under one banner in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, media reports said on Monday.

A senior LJP leader Arjun Rai on Monday told the local media both the leaders are working on a plan but he didn’t elaborate much.

Kushwaha had recently called on Yadav and discussed some political issues. There are reports of LJD to be merged into the RLSP but it has not been officially confirmed.

A senior LJD leader and close associate of Sharad Yadav, Arun Shrivastava told a local media that it would only strengthen the unity against such forces if the merger took place.

“Kushwaha earlier met with Sharad Yadav and both parties expressed common interest and also shared common political understandings,” Shrivastav was quoted as telling a news website.
