Latur, Apr 9 (UNI) Coming down heavily on the Opposition alliance in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first election rally in this drought-prone district on Tuesday claimed that there was ‘no’ expectation from the Indian National Congress (INC) and Nationalist Congress Party’s senior leader Sharad Pawar in their loop ‘not’ at all suited.

Canvassing votes for the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Prime Minister appealed to the electoral especially youths to dedicate their valuable vote for developments of country, powerful government, welfare of poor and farmers and in respect of Indian jawans who attacked terrorist dens in Pakistan and CRPF martyrs in Pulwama terror attack.

Beginning his address in Marathi language, Modi praised medieval Indian ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Hindu Goddess Ma Tulja Bhavani, Lingayat saint Siddheshwar and spiritual guru Shivaling Acharya Maharaj.

Interestingly, Modi and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray were seen together on a common platform after a gap of 28 months. The BJP has entered into alliance with Shiv Sena for Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.

Admiring people of Latur, Modi said an inspiration can be taken from them for tackling natural calamities.

On BJP’s manifesto which was released on Monday, the Prime Minister said his party was determined to overall development, giving good governance, strengthening national security. Modi also pitched to behold‘nationalism’.

Criticising INC’s manifesto, Modi alleged that grand old party was batting to remove Indian Penal Code Section 124 A (sedition) and opposing removal Article 370 (special status to Jammu and Kashmir).

Attacking the opposition alliance, the Prime Minister said, “INC-NCP is selfish and has interest in developing family only.”

“Can they work for the development of Nation?” Modi questioned.

Praising Shiv Sena founder Late Bal Thackeray, the Prime Minister averred that the Opposition should take inspiration from Thackeray who ‘never’ took any benefit neither for himself nor for his family.

State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and pro-Dalit outfit Republican Party of India chief Ramdas Athawale were also present in support of BJP-Sena alliance candidate for Latur (Reserved) parliamentary constituency Sudhakar Shrangare and Osmanabad LS seat candidate Omprakash Rajenimbalkar.
