New Delhi, Mar 26 (IBNS): Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday praised Rahul Gandhi over the minimum income guarantee programme that will give up to Rs. 72,000 a year to 20 per cent of India's poorest families and called it a 'masterstroke' played by the Congress chief.

"It's a masterstroke by the 'master of situation', @RahulGandhi - declaring #MinimumIncomeGuarantee scheme. It has rattled our people so much that some of our prominent people had to rush for a press conference, calling the whole declaration/ announcement 'chhal kapat'," Sinha, who is a rebel BJP leader, tweeted.

Sinha also targeted PM Narendra Modi over his once made announcement that Rs. 15 lakhs will be added to the accounts of every Indians and said: "Would like to know from our learned friends / leadership - that when you announced various 'jumlaas'....15 Lacs to every individual, farmers' loan waivers & subsidies, more than 2 crore jobs for the youth every year, etc. etc..Was all this fair?."

"This is how things are paid in the same coin, that's why it is called 'master of situation' Rahul Gandhi," he said.

The BJP dropped Sinha from his Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat.

The two-time MP has fallen out with BJP after the 2015 Bihar assembly elections in 2015.

He was also seen on the dais with leaders of the 'mahagathbandhan' at an opposition rally in Kolkata, hosted by Trinamool chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
