Sheena Bora murder case: Police custody of Indrani Mukherjea, 2 others extended till Sept 7

Mumbai, Sept 5 (IBNS): The police custody of three accused, including former media executive Indrani Mukherjea, have been extended till Sept 7 in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case.

Apart from Indrani Mukherjea, the Mumbai court extended the custody of Shyamvar Rai and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna.

Indrani Mukerjea was arrested on Aug 24 for the murder of Sheena Bora, her daughter from an earlier relationship, in 2012.

Indrani Mukherjea used to present Sheena as her sister hiding their true relationship.

Former CEO of Star India Peter Mukerjea  married  Indrani  in 2002 and set up a media company with her.

Sheena  was having a relationship with  Rahul, Peter Mukerjea's son from a previous marriage.

She  was stated to have been  strangled in a car and then her body was burnt and dumped in the forests in Raigad, 84 km from Mumbai.

The remains were found a month later and buried by the local police, which treated the body as unclaimed.

For three years,  Indrani Mukherjea  told family and friends that Sheena had shifted to the US.

The lid over the murder blew off recently following an anonymous call that made police to crack on the case.
