At least five Indian nationals were injured in the United Arab Emirates after being struck by falling debris following the interception of a ballistic missile near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), officials said.

In addition to the five Indians, a Pakistani national was also injured in the incident, taking the total number of injured to six.

Providing details, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said on X: “As part of the ongoing follow-up to the previously reported incident in the vicinity of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), caused by falling debris following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems, authorities confirm that the incident resulted in injuries ranging from minor to moderate sustained by five individuals of Indian nationality.”

Authorities later confirmed an additional injury involving a Pakistani national, bringing the total number of injured individuals to six, with injuries described as minor to moderate.

“The public is advised to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information,” the office added.

Officials said all three fires triggered by the incident have been brought under control, and cooling operations are currently underway.

No further details have been released regarding the condition of the injured or the extent of damage to the affected sites.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, with the United States and Israel conducting strikes on Iran since February 28. In response, Iran has launched retaliatory attacks across parts of the Middle East.

The escalating situation has raised concerns over global markets and disrupted aviation operations in the region.
