Smriti Irani omitted from BJP's new executive body
New Delhi, Mar 12(IBNS) BJP president Amit Shah has reconstituted the party's national executive with a 111-member team, omitting, among others, education minister Smriti Irani and including railway minister Suresh Prabhu.
Irani is the youngest and one of the prominent cabinet ministers in the Narendra Modi government.
The reconstituted national executive will meet in Bengaluru on April 3 and 4 to take stock of the party's performance in Bihar and West Bengal assembly elections.
Among other prominent omissions in the new committee are the names of Najma Heptullah and actor-turned MP Hema Malini.
Besides Prabhu, union ministers Rao Indrajit and Gen VK Singh have been included in the list.
Prime Minster Narendra Modi is expected to be present at the Bengaluru meet.
