A five-layer security ring comprising highly trained personnel from Russia’s Presidential Security Service, commandos from India’s National Security Guard (NSG), snipers, drones, jammers and AI-based monitoring systems has been put in place for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India, media reports said.

To ensure top-level security during the action-packed itinerary, more than four dozen Russian security personnel arrived in Delhi in advance, NDTV reported, citing its sources.

According to reports, teams are sanitising every route that President Putin’s cavalcade will use during his visit.

Specialised drones will enable a control room to maintain continuous surveillance of the President’s movement, while snipers will be positioned along the route, the Indian news channel reported.

Sources told NDTV that a five-layer security ring has been planned, with all layers becoming operational as soon as President Putin lands.

The outer security layers will be managed by the NSG and the Delhi Police, while the inner layers will be handled by the Russian Presidential Security Service, the channel reported.

As per media reports, the hotel where the Russian President will stay has also been sanitised.

President Vladimir Putin will visit India on December 4–5 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, officials said on Friday. He will attend the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit.

Sharing details of the visit, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement: “During the visit, President Putin will hold talks with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Hon’ble Rashtrapatiji will also receive President Putin and host a banquet in his honour.”Sharing details about the meeting, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement: "During the visit, President Putin will hold talks with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
