Sonia Gandhi takes oath as Rajya Sabha member

New Delhi/UNI: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi took oath as the Rajya Sabha Member in the new Parliament House on Thursday.

The oath was administered by Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar.

The former Congress president was elected unopposed to the Upper House from Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on social media X conveyed his best wishes for her new innings.

''My best wishes to the Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi as she begins her new innings, by taking oath in the Rajya Sabha, today,'' Kharge wrote.

"Her courageous resilience and dignified grace, in the wake of adversity and upheaval, shall continue to guide our Parliamentary strategy. She has completed 25 years serving the Lok Sabha, and now my fellow members and I await her presence in the Upper House. I wish her a fruitful tenure ahead," he said.
