Sonia in Rae Bareli to distribute cheques to Janata Express victims, farmers

Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, May 28 (IBNS) Congress president, Sonia Gandhi reached her parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli here on Thursday to attend a string of party programmes, including distribution of cheques to the families of Janata Express accident victims and distressed farmers.

Sonia  will be joined by her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who is already here on a two-day visit, reports said. .

She will distribute cheques to the families of the victims of Janata Express accident that occurred in Bachrawan, Rae Bareli in March this year.

Besides, she will also unveil the plaque of Nagar Panchayat Bhawan, Dalmau, and interact with the local .

Later, the Congress president will inaugurate works done under the MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds at the Feroze Gandhi colony park and inspect the progress of projects including urban-rural electrification, Rajiv Awaas Yojana and drinking water schemes.

She will also distribute cheques to the farmers affected by untimely rains and hailstorm before leaving for New Delhi in the evening.
