Guwahati, July 12 (IBNS): As the swollen Brahmaputra showed no signs of respite and inundated large parts of Majuli, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday visited the flood hit district, inspecting relief camps.

He also took stock of the relief materials being provided to the camp inmates in the island district.

Sonowal also asked the district administration to swing its men and materials for the relief and rescue operations and provide all facilities including pure drinking water to the flood affected people.

He also took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the camp in-mates especially elderly people and children.

Sonowal asked the administration to ensure supply of nutritional baby food to three relief camps and three distribution centres in the district. Moreover, strict instruction was also issued so that no flood victim is denied of relief materials.

The Assam CM visited three relief camps at Kamalabari and Garmur areas and spent time with the flood-hit people.
